John S. Ferrari, PT, MS (Founder, Co-Owner)

John is the co-owner of Comprehensive Physical Therapy Associates. He graduated from Columbia University with an M.S. in Physical Therapy in 1986. John has over 33 years of direct patient-care experience. John continues to successfully apply his knowledge to the treatment of an orthopedic and neurological case-load, including: lower back, cervical, hip, shoulder, knee, foot, and elbow cases. The spectrum of patient’s ranges from highly competitive athletes to weekend warriors to non-athletic patients. John has coached many youth soccer and basketball teams. He has been a guest lecturer at the John Jay College Health and Physical Education Program. John is currently very active in the American Physical Therapy private practice section.

David N. Ziska, PT (Founder, Co-Owner)

David is the co-owner of Comprehensive Physical Therapy Associates. He earned his B.S. in Physical Therapy from Hunter College in 1986, as well as a B.S. in Biology from Syracuse University. He began his career at New York Presbyterian Hospital and opened his private practice in 1991 with co-owner John Ferrari. David has over 33 years of clinical experience treating musculoskeletal (back, neck, upper body, lower body) and neurological injuries, as well as post-surgical conditions. David has been a youth basketball and baseball coach, and has experience with the management of pediatric and adolescent sports injuries.

Christine J. Bergmann, PT

Christine is a graduate of SUNY HSC at Syracuse. She has over 3 decades of direct patient-care experience in hospital, home care and outpatient based care.  Christine’s previous position included: The Assistant Chief of Physical Therapy at South Nassau Community Hospital and the Assistant Chief at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Christine has trained and mentored students and staff physical therapists for 20 years. During this time she has capably treated both typical and complicated cases including patients with orthopedic, medical, neurological, and postoperative issues of the spine, head and neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot.  She has advanced experience with post mastectomy and women’s health issues. She incorporates ergonomic and wellness in the progression of treatment of her patients. Chris leads an active lifestyle including regular exercise, golf, hiking, biking, and competitive volleyball.

Mary Spina – Bootsma, Billing Manager

Mary is the billing manager at Comprehensive Physical Therapy Associates. She has been with us for over 20 years. Mary handles all of the bills and claims here. She is in the office 5 days a week to answer any insurance and/or billing questions you may have. Her goal is to make the insurance process as simple as possible.
